Brussels - This year, the event will be devoted to the examination of the support that standardization will continue to give to the competitiveness of the European economy in order to ensure innovation and growth for Europe in the world.

The Conference will feature three panel debates:

• How standardization supports Intelligent Transport Systems
• Standards as a tool for Security Industrial Policy
• Standardization for interoperability and competitiveness in Space
  
  Commissioner Antonio Tajani and the Polish Deputy Prime Minister, Waldemar Pawlak, are likely to open the Conference, while the IMCO Vice-Chair and rapporteur on the legislative proposal on European Standardization, Lara Comi, is amongst the key speakers.
