Abstract/Scope defines a real-time optical serial interface between the control unit and its associate drives which is utilized to transmit periodic and non-periodic data. This interface is intended to apply to industrial machines, such as machine tools, with multiple drives and which can be operated in torque, velocity, or position interface operation modes.
