| ST 1 |
CCAF to set up a working group to tackle Strategic Target 1, i.e. to establish a coordinated approach, i.e. by disseminating best practices, to the interpretation of electrotechnical standards used for the European market publicly available. The WG shall examine in the first instance the cause/effect relation between the strategic target and possible sources of influence situated in the following categories as identified by the WG: standards, sources of interpretation and revision, procedures, communication, response time, economy. The WG shall make proposals for a coordinated approach.

| ST 2 |
The CCAF chairman to open a dialogue with the European Commission and the EFTA Secretariat on CENELEC standards aspects, to establish recognition of CCAF with a view of continuing exchange of information in relation to conformity assessment matters. This dialogue would embrace inter alia the following subjects: European legislation, EC guidance documents, enlargement of the EU, MRAs between the EU and Third Countries, article 9 cases.

CCAF to set up a WG to investigate means of giving support to “total” market surveillance on the European market, as far as CENELEC standards are concerned, taking into account voluntary and mandatory aspects, e.g. by assisting article 9 procedures.

CCAF to invite CENELEC CS to keep it informed on developments within CEN concerning the CEN/CENELEC European mark (the Keymark) through its representation on the CEN/CLC Certification Liaison Committee.

CCAF to identify a representative to monitor progress and to take appropriate action with regard to peer assessment, in particular the link with accreditation, and to report as necessary.

CCAF to advise CENELEC CS on the contents of the conformity assessment domain of the CENELEC website and on other communication channels, as appropriate, and to consider ways of supporting CENELEC CS for their development.

CCAF to note that the Chairman of CCAF has been invited as an observer to the IEC/CAB meeting, thereby providing a channel for the exchange of relevant information, and to assist in the convergence between Europe and the International Community on conformity assessment matters.

CCAF to identify a representative to be responsible for maintaining a communication channel for the exchange of relevant information with ETSI, in areas of mutual interest related to conformity assessment matters.
