CENELEC - CNCA Working Dinner in Seoul

CNCA, Certification and Accreditation Administration of the P.R. of China and CENELEC, European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization, held a working dinner in Seoul last October, at the occasion of the 2004 General Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The objective of this event was to identify future activities in the framework of the CENELEC Global Framework project in China.

The main topics covered during the event included:

  • Chinese legislation on standardization and conformity assessment, particularly in the electrotechnical field.
  • SAC, Standardization Administration of the P.R. of China:
    structure, procedures and follow-up of the IEC standardization.
  • Counterfeiting of electrical installation products.

 

As a result of the meeting CNCA and CENELEC agreed to holding a seminar next year in Brussels addressed to the European electrotechnical industry, on the Chinese compulsory certification system (CCC) and on the requirements concerning electro-magnetic fields (EMF) applicable in China.

 

Dr. U. Spindler, President of CENELEC, Mr. Luigi Ricossa, Vice-president of CENELEC and Mrs. E. Santiago, General Director of CENELEC, led the 9 people CENELEC delegation.

The 5 people Chinese delegation was led by Ms. WANG Fengqing, Administrator of CNCA and Mr. SU Zhongmin, Administrator Assistant of SAC.
