TV for All - Barcelona

A date for your diaries
Barcelona 28 October 2003
Follow-up of TV Broadcasting for all, Seville 2002

Following the publication of TV for All’s Interim Report in June we need to prepare ourselves for the final report which is due at the end of November. This will concentrate on the practical recommendations already outlined in the Interim Report and take on board any other comment being suggested in the meantime. So to concentrate minds and take this forward it is considered much can be achieved if all interested parties meet for a one day conference in Barcelona on the 28 October 2003.

The basic details are that we’ll give the morning over to an overall view of the Interim Report followed by comment from disabled people’s representatives, manufacturers and broadcasters. The remaining time and the afternoon will be given to the floor for suggestions and remarks which can be placed in the final report.

This is our last chance to make our mark about the needs for disabled people within the digital TV world. Already decisions being made about digital usage within individual countries and across Europe. A recent example is the mandate to European Standardisation Organisations to come forward, in a matter of months, with proposals for digital TV and interactive services. These proposals are to include TV for All’s reports. So quite clearly the sands of time are running!

The next step is to provide you with details as to the venue, timings, accommodation and etc and these will be announced shortly.

Already there are indications that this will be a popular event, especially amongst the specialists involved in access to Digital TV. Space is limited and it’s a case of “First come – First served”.

So book your place at this important event. Do it today and make your reservation by contacting Mr Paco Cabeza-Lopez at info@cenelec.org

The conference will be held solely in English.
Due to financial restrictions, no means of translation will be provided.
