ReDeSign is a research project under the European Commission Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7) which aims to develop new technologies and technology strategies enabling cable operators to migrate their networks towards fully-fledged broadband communication infrastructures in the most efficient and cost effective way.
In January 2008 the ReDeSign consortium contacted CLC/CS with a request for having a technical liaison established with CLC/TC 209 “Cable networks for television signals, sound signals and interactive services” and this in order to ensure a consistent exchange of information.
In March 2008, the CENELEC Administrative Board granted ReDeSign the status of Technical Liaison Partner to CLC/TC 209, this in accordance with the provisions of 4.3.2. of the Internal Regulations Part 2 and on an exceptional and temporary basis.
